Vancouver's John Mann hosts a "complimentary concert" of Northern Songs & Stories  at Canada's Northern House, Wednesday, March 24 at 7 PM, featuring the music of two Juno nominees, Yukon's Kim Barlow (Annie Lou) and NWT's Digawolf along with Yukon singer/songwriter Graeme Peters and NWT troubadour Pat Braden.

Canada's Northern House has been garnering rave reviews throughout the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.  So much so that they've extended their time in Vancouver, giving visitors more opportunities to discover Canada's North right in the midst of the city.  

Sample the music, the stories, and the exhibits for a few hours and leave refreshed from your journey North.

John will be touring solo throughout the spring. Check the Tour Dates page for updated shows throughout Canada!

John will be performing two solo shows at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre this December 4 & 5. Tickets are available now through the Cultch box office at 604-251-1363. Check out the Cultch website for details!

Due to health reasons, John Mann has been forced to postpone his performances between September 24 and Dec 3. We apologize for any inconvenience. John will be fine and is on his way to a speedy recovery. He looks forward to rescheduling new dates in your area as soon as possible. John Mann is set to appear this March in "Beyond Eden", a rock musical that tells the story of an anthropologist travelling British Columbia's west coast. Read the history of this musical and the people behind it in this Monday Magazine article.

John will be performing a series of private house concerts throughout Manitoba as part of the Home Routes concert series. Learn more about Home Routes at their site.

Spirit of the West will be inducted into the Western Canadian Music Alliance Hall of Fame on October 19, 2008 at the Myer Horowitz Theatre in Edmonton, AB.

John Mann will also perform a solo set during the WCMA festival as part of SOCAN Songs and Stories, earlier on October 19.

To celebrate Spirit of the West’s 25th Anniversary, Warner Music Canada / Rhino Canada are pleased to release Spirituality 1983 – 2008: The Consummate Compendium. This two disc CD set will be available both digitally and physically on Tuesday, July 15, 2008. The album will be released at Rhino Canada’s 2 for 1 pricing.

The 32 tracks on Spirituality 1983 – 2008: The Consummate Compendium were hand picked by the band and covers their entire career. The set also includes the previously unreleased demo version of “Kiss & Tell” as well as two new tracks, “Another Happy New Year” and “Winter’s Now The Enemy.”

Spirituality 1983 – 2008: The Consummate Compendium will be released in a stunning book themed digipak. The artwork includes rare photos, set lists, hand written lyrics and much more from the band’s own archives.

At 3am on Friday, February 15, 2008, music producer Scott Harding was the victim of a car crash, returning home from a late night mixing session. The cab he was riding in was broadsided by a stolen car; the impact crushed Harding’s T5 vertebrae, leaving him partially paralyzed. Scott's condition is serious and like many dedicated musicians he is without health insurance and is facing very large medical and legal fees.

The short term need to raise cash in order to handle Scott’s affairs is very real. His friends and the dedicated musical community that Scott has long been a part of quickly united, forming The Scotty Hard Trust, a special account which will help to handle Scott’s financial needs through private monetary donations.

John Mann has been nominated for Songwriter of the Year in this year's Western Canadian Music Awards.

John is nominated alongside such artist as Barney Bentall, Romi Mayes, and Nathan.
